DESCRIPTION:DiLumen will be presented at the booth of our Distribution Partner in Austria\, Pejcl Medizintechnik.\n  \nAbout the 2021 Endoscopy Postgraduate in Vienna\nAfter the compulsory break last year\, the endoscopy postgraduate course is back and is being held in a hybrid format this year in line with the signs of the times. \nWe look forward to welcoming as many participants as possible to Vienna on November 19th and 20th. For those who cannot come or if circumstances do not allow\, the event will be streamed on the internet. \nWhen selecting the topics\, we tried to catch up on what had been lost and stretched the range of topics particularly wide. \nIn addition to high-end procedures such as rendezvous and hybrid interventions using EUS\, we will highlight the news about the ERCP. \n“Endoscopy in everyday life” is also of particular importance: What is new to improve the detection rate of polyps\, what do we need to know about inflammation in the intestine in 2021? In gastroscopy\, we devote ourselves to subtle changes that may escape the examiner’s attention\, but also to new methods of defect closure or the ablation of benign and premalignant changes. \nSo that we also consider the patient as a whole in endoscopy\, another focus will be on the characteristics and needs of special collectives: We will devote ourselves to special accompanying circumstances such as cardiac or liver diseases as well as the special requirements for endoscopy in old people.

SUMMARY:The 97th Congress of the Japan Gastroenterological Endoscopy Society
DESCRIPTION:The slogan for the Congress will be “Endoscopy: A keen insight into nature of a disease”. As endocopists we understand our aim is to provide effective and minimally invasive treatments to our patients by using endoscopy to understand the nature of disease. I have worked closely with President Dr. Hisao Tajiri and members of the program committee to ensure the congress is stimulating and fulfilling for all who attend. \nTwo Special Sessions\, two Special Lectures\, sixteen Educational Lectures\, JGES-ASGE joint symposiums and a JGES-ESGE joint symposiums are planned as part of our program. In the JGES Core Sessions\, we are planning to include a number of sessions to cover the wide range of interests in the expanding endoscopic world. English speaking sessions will be provided every day. Also\, there are hands-on sessions\, which we hope will be especially useful for newly qualified doctors. Furthermore\, we are pleased to introduce two new exciting sessions for this Congress. The first session is entitled “The international live demonstration course”. This course will run for the whole of the third day of the Congress. We will broadcast live demonstrations conducted by the highly respected international and domestic doctors from Showa University Koto Toyosu Hospital. The second new session is entitled “97JGES Best Case Award”. In this session\, we are planning to invite newly qualified active doctors to share videos which are considered to make a valuable contribution to the development of the endoscopic discipline. A panel of judges will select what they consider to be the best video. We are delighted to welcome a number of world-renowned leaders in the field of GI endoscopy: Dr. Jacques Marescaux (France)\, Dr. Robert Hawes (U.S.A.)\, Dr. Horst Neuhaus (Germany)\, Dr. Guido Costamagna (Italy)\, Dr. Stefan Seewald (Switzerland)\, Dr. Stavros Stavropoulous (U.S.A.)\, Dr. Philip W. Y. Chiu (Hong Kong)\, Dr. Han-Mo Chiu (Taiwan)\, Dr. Norio Fukami (U.S.A.) and Dr. Noriko Suzuki (U.K.) as the special guests from overseas. Some of them will give us live demonstrations from our Showa University Koto Toyosu Hospital.
