SUMMARY:9th Annual Expert Strategies in Endoscopy\, GI and Liver
DESCRIPTION:The program’s goal is to improve participants’ competence and practice performance by providing cutting edge information on endoscopy\, gastroenterology and liver diseases through state of the art lectures and hands on endoscopy sessions taught by an international faculty of experts in the field. The hands on session in the afternoon is by far the most needed educational session based on performance gap analysis. This popular session includes demonstration of the following techniques\, with opportunities for participants to practice techniques learned: clipping\, stenting\, closing perforations\, cryotherapy\, RFA\, hemostasis\, cauterization\, argon gas\, EMR\, ESD\, ablation\, snare techniques\, injection needles\, use of HD endoscopes\, etc. We also plan to have a nurses and GI fellows hands on session for them to gain familiarity with various endoscopic tools and techniques. The morning educational session presentations will educate participants on common and controversial topics in endoscopy\, gastrointestinal and liver diseases in preparation for afternoon hands-on sessions. Morning sessions will include interactive audience polling and Q&A sessions where participants can receive expert feedback. \nSpeaker(s)\nFaculty Todd Baron\, MD Michael Camilleri\, MD Donald Campbell\, MD Doug Faigel\, MD Michael Fried\, MD Wei Gong\, MD (China) Haru Inoue\, MD (Japan) Greg Haber\, MD Sreeni Jonnalagada\, MD Moji Olyaee\, MD Bret Petersen\, MD Alessandro Repici\, MD (Italy) Doug Rex\, MD Thomas Rosch\, MD (Germany) David Rubin\, MD Ahmed Saeed\, MD Irving Waxman\, MD Karen Woods\, MD \nCE Credits\nThis event offers 8.4 CE credits to attendees.\nCE accredited by The University of Kansas Medical Center Area Health Education Center East\, as an approved provider of continuing education by the Kansas State Board of Nursing\, presents this offering for a maximumof 8.4 contact hour credit applicable for relicensure of APRNs\, RNs and LPNs.
