COURSE OVERVIEW
The symposium aims to establish a premier endoscopy unit through collaboration among physicians, nurses, and technicians. It will feature live demonstrations by internationally recognized experts, focusing on advanced techniques and the latest innovations in endoscopic procedures for gastrointestinal and pancreaticobiliary diseases. The event will take place at the Nicholson Center, with live liver endoscopic procedures showcased to highlight procedural success and patient safety. Additionally, the course will educate nurses and technicians on using endoscopic equipment, offering practical training to enhance their contributions to clinical practices. The overall goal is to provide a comprehensive learning experience that integrates new knowledge into participant’s roles in the endoscopy team.

- Hands on training lab focusing on nurse’s and technician’s endoscopy needs.
PHYSICIAN PROGRAM | Thursday & Friday, February 6th-7th, 2025
- Two days of live procedural demonstrations by internationally renowned experts encompassing EUS, ERCP, endoscopic resections and 3rd space endoscopy.
- Demonstrate cutting-edge procedural techniques with emphasis on “How to do it safely and effectively” and how to manage procedure-related adverse events.
- State-of-the-art lectures, interactive luncheon sessions, satellite symposiums and self-assessment.
- Hands-on-training lab focusing on interventions, innovations and EUS cytopathology.

At the conclusion of the workshop, participants should be able to:
- Discuss recent endoscopic innovations and techniques and their clinical utility and effectiveness in disease management.
- Describe how to operate endoscopic accessories and effectively assist during a procedure.
- Identify best practices in endoscopic treatment of medical emergencies and patient preparation for advanced endoscopic procedures.
- Recognize the importance of an interdisciplinary approach to patient management.
- Discuss ethics in therapeutic and diagnostic endoscopy.
PHYSICIAN PROGRAM | Thursday & Friday, February 6th-7th, 2025
As a result of participation in this program participants should be able to:
- Identify recent innovations and advancements in diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy and assess their clinical significance.
- Demonstrate the effective and safe performance of therapeutic and advanced endoscopic procedures, as well as the management of procedure-related adverse events.
- Demonstrate therapeutic endoscopy skills and techniques through simulation and skills-based training in a hands-on laboratory setting, using a variety models.
- Demonstrate effective diagnostic EUS evaluation and sampling.
- Discuss advanced polyp resection techniques including EMR and ESD.
- Identify the role of POEM and G-POEM in treatment of achalasia and gastroparesis, respectively.
- Demonstrate therapeutic and advanced diagnostic EUS procedural techniques including portal pressure measurement, EUS gastro-jejunostomy and EUS biliary access.
- Demonstrate procedural techniques including diagnostic and therapeutic EUS, cytology slides preparation, cholangioscopy, resection techniques and hemostasis and defect closure techniques.
